Abstract
  
With the reform and development of English teaching, traditional teaching model can’t meet the requirements of current English teaching any more. How to arouse students’ learning interests and increase their learning efficiency become two demanding problems that English teachers have to face. Using English songs in English teaching, as a new teaching model, not only provides rich and colorful teaching materials, but also arouses students’ passion and interests in learning.
    Based on the theory of constructivism, cognition and suggestopedia, this paper mainly studies the advantages and ways of using this teaching model—using English songs in English teaching. It is composed of three parts. The first part gives a brief review of the current researches about this teaching method and introduces the significance and innovation of this study. The second part is the body of this paper. Firstly, it introduces the theoretical basis of this research. Secondly, it discusses the five advantages and the four ways of applying this teaching model to English teaching. Next, it investigates three principles for choosing appropriate English songs. Finally, it offers a model lesson to demonstrate how to carry out this teaching model. The third part is the conclusion.

摘 要

随着英语教学改革的不断深入,传统的教学模式已经不能完全满足现代教学的需求,如何提高学生的学习兴趣和学习效率更是英语教师所面临的两大难题。将英文歌曲应用于英语教学,不仅为枯燥的英语教学提供了丰富的语言素材,而且还能大大激发学生的学习热情、提高学生学习英语的兴趣。
本文以建构主义理论、认知理论和暗示教学法理论为基础,探讨了将英文歌曲应用于英语教学的优势以及实施的方式。全文由三部分构成。第一部分回顾了国内外相关研究的现状,介绍了本研究的意义与创新。第二部分首先介绍了本文的理论基础,其次论述了将英文歌曲应用于教学的五个优势以及实施该教学模式的四种方式,最后探讨了选择用于教学的英文歌曲的三大原则。第三部分是总结。
